MEREDITH DALEY Head Coach

I'm thrilled to be returning as a coach for Woodland Pond! I originally coached the team for eight years before taking a break to start my family, and I’ve now been back on deck for the past ten years. Coaching this team has always been a passion of mine—I truly love being part of the Wave family.

I’m married to John and we have two wonderful children, Keegan and Erin Porter. I graduated from Randolph-Macon Woman’s College (now Randolph College), where I competed on the swim team all four years. Swimming has played a major role in my life, and I’m especially passionate about encouraging young athletes to try the sport and stick with it through high school.

During the school year, I teach 3rd grade in Chesterfield County and coach the Matoaca High School Swim Team. I’m proud to support swimmers of all ages in their growth and development—both in and out of the pool. Go Wave!

Tom Watson Volunteer Coach

You'll find Coach Watson at practices and meets encouraging swimmers both young and old. As a former Division 1 swimmer for Clemson University, he brings a wealth of experience and dedication to our team. He was the head coach of a summer swim team for 20 years, leading his teams to multiple championships, and has been a volunteer coach here at Woodland Pond for the past seven years. Even though he has thirteen of his own grandchildren on the team, you'll be hard pressed to figure out which ones those are, because he treats all of the swimmers like his own. In addition to helping out here at Woodland Pond, he is the Assistant Coach for Matoaca High Swim Team.
