Hello WPST Families!

We received details regarding our next swim meet, scheduled for Tuesday, June 9 at Smoketree. The meet starts promptly at 6:00 pm.

Smoketree pool is located at 11100 Smoketree Drive Richmond, Virginia 23236.

Gates Open and Warm Up Times:

• Woodland Pond Swimmers need to arrive and check in by 5:00.
• Woodland Pond warmups will begin at 5:25 pm.
• The meet will start promptly at 6:00 pm.

Concessions -

The Hungry Marlin Grill Masters will be grilling up hamburgers, cheeseburgers, and hotdogs! Regular menu concession items will also be available to purchase. The Hungry Marlin accepts CASH (preferred) and credit cards. They may close between 8-8:30, so make sure you order your food early!

Parking -

We have a spacious parking lot, designated parking areas in the grass, and overflow parking at the church, Church of the Epiphany, next door. We ask that no one parks on the street (Yarrow) directly across from the pool. The street is narrow and we need to make sure that emergency vehicles can get down the road if need be.

Family Set-up -

Woodland Pond can set up swimmers and families when you first come in the gate to the right (we will block off these tables for you), around the diving board, and overflow into the grass on the right (game pool side). Feel free to bring canopies/tents/chairs. Please do not set up directly behind the starting blocks. We also are asking families to not watch any swimming from behind the blocks - we've had issues with overcrowding in that area.

Also, families may not set up under the Pavilion, which needs to remain open for families to order food and enjoy their meals. Our game pool will be closed and that includes the grounds around that pool as well. This is for safety, as there will not be a lifeguard on duty for that pool.

Spirit Night

Tuesday’s meet will be a GLOW NIGHT courtesy of Ashley Cooper Realtor. We will have plenty of glow sticks for both teams, but invite you to dress up and/or bring extra glow fun for your swimmers. Additionally, we are planning on selling slushies in glow-in-the-dark cups.
